Acoustics

Increased traffic in town and city centres worsens the air and noise pollution year by year. And when moving away from fossil fuels, new concepts like hybrid cars and electric cars, although they have proven to have environmental benefits, provide new challenges in achieving the desired noise and vibration comfort.

We want the people living in large cities to have the same peace and harmony as those who live on the country side. We want to be able to enjoy our break at the coffee house with a quiet air-conditioning in the background, looking at the noise- and vibration free cars driving by outside the coffee house, driven by people on their way to the country side to enjoy the whispering wind power turbines.

Creo Dynamics remove unwanted noise and vibration and add wanted sound and vibration characteristics, in order to enhance the product from a customer perspective. As low noise levels as possible is not always the right goal. Electrical cars can be too quiet, causing possible danger for pedestrians. Sound and Vibration contains important information which may be necessary for proper handling of a product, e.g. a car. To achieve the right noise and vibration properties can be described as working with the “three I´s”

• Get rid of Irritating Noise
• Enhance Impressive Sound
• Keep Informative sounds

Development ranges from studies of components to complete systems. The methodology is based on testing and experience. We have state-of-the art tools for measurement and analysis, in order to identify and optimize noise and vibration characteristics of products.

Hearing is said to be our second most important sense where sight is said to be number one. How obvious these two are ordered internally is exemplified in a very pedagogical way here.
